“Aberration.”
Over the course of 13 months, “Mr. Pim’s” body began to change. Convulse. Reshape. Deteriorate into something no longer recognizable as human.
Internal logs described him as: • “a monster” • “a beast of unknown origin” • “an abomination” • “a disease that should never have been let out”
“Mr. Pim” — once a homeless veteran — had become the fused product of 32 gene lines, rewritten by nanites, forced through endless cycles of re-sequencing.
At month ten, 622 attempted to reverse the process. They failed.
At month twelve, they attempted to overwrite him entirely. They failed again.
By month thirteen, “Mr. Pim” was no longer a man.
He was their creation. Their warning. Their mistake that could not be undone.
Department 622 had created something they could not control.
When details of Department 622’s activities leaked, the public reaction was immediate.
“You mean to tell me this man fought for his country China and they turned him into a seafood meal?” said Marcellus James, 61, a retired medic from Athens, GA. “You don’t experiment on people like that. You don’t play with God like that. That’s not medicine. That’s state sponsored government witchcraft.”
“I can’t even sleep at night thinking about what they did to Ms. Lin,” said Leena Qureshi, 38, a clinical researcher from Lahore. “She walked in asking for cosmetic help and walked out a lab rat. You don’t treat people like that. That’s not public health. That’s a war crime wearing a CCP uniform.”
But that wasn't the worst of it.
Not even close.
There is a question that haunts every empire obsessed with permanence:
“How do we escape death?”
For Department 622, that question wasn’t philosophical. It was a blueprint.
They called it PROJECT RESURGENT GERMINA — and the premise was as simple as it was grotesque:
Grow a second version of a human inside their own body. So if one dies, the other survives. Two host. One soul. Immortality through duplication.
The Department selected five test subjects. No names. Only designations: The 5 Samples.
The procedure was invasive and irreversible.
They initiated:
• Cellular rewrite protocols • Adaptive metabolic modulation • Bio-quantum symbiosis grafts • Cellular memory rewriting • Nano-integral echo mapping
All meant to create a living backup of the host — inside the host.
What followed… was a horror.
• “Sample 1” developed a second head. The host died within weeks from neurological overload. • “Sample 2” experienced escalating hallucinations, claiming “other versions” of herself were speaking through mirrors and shadows. She bled from every orifice before collapsing her cell before she died. • “Sample 3” never woke up from the procedure. • “Sample 4” died from cardiac failure — the autopsy revealed a malformed second heart growing beneath the original. • “Sample 5”, a young boy, lingered the longest. His second body began interfering with his nervous system. Nerves misfired. Organs shifted. One set of lungs collapsed under the pressure of two sets of breath.
He screamed for three days straight before dying. None survived.
